Hi all,
We have purchased an MPS2+ platform, and everything was going well, but since Friday we are facing an error we do not understand.
When starting the FPGA configuration (by pressing the 'ON' button on the board), leds start blinking (the screen is 'white'), but after few seconds all leds turn off and the screen does the same, and nothing more happen (no activity, not a single character on the serial port).
When looking at the log file, we can read 'ERROR: FPGA did not configure. Failed to program FPGA...' :
================================
ARM V2M-MPS2 CMSIS-DAP Firmware v2.1.7 Build Date: Aug 19 2015 MotherBoard Revision C Variant A MotherBoard Serial Number 0275560101-0026 ARM V2M Boot Loader v1.0.0 Switching on main power... Configuring motherboard (rev C, var A)... Reading Board File \MB\HBI0263C\AN385\an385_v3.txt Configuring FPGA from file \MB\HBI0263C\AN385\an385_v3.rbe ERROR: FPGA did not configure. Failed to program FPGA... Powering down...================================
We were able to use the platform with different configuration and with an external debugger without issue before that error occurs.
We have tried to restore the default files on the SD card (from the CMPS_3_1 installation directory), and we have also tried different configurations (cortex-m0 / cortex-m3 / cortex-m4), but we still have this error message.
The board and its component do not seem to be damaged at first sight (we take care of it and we try to prevent it from ESD).
Any idea on how we can investigate on this issue?
Thank for your help!
Hi,
Unfortunately it sounds like the board has lost it's encryption key. This may have been caused by a faulty button battery on the board.
The only way to fix this would be to send the board in for repair.
You should fill in a hardware fault form from here:
http://infocenter.arm.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.arm.doc.faqs/ka4138.html
then send the completed form to support@arm.com
If you bought the board via a distributor, then please have them contact support in the first instance.
Kind regards
Michele
